A law was passed in the SA parliament by a simple majority, when relating to a matter which the SA Act 1909 had entrenched so as to require a 2/3 majority.
Despite Statute of Westminster 1931, which said that no act of SA parliament was invalid because it conflicted with a UK act, the court nevertheless held that the act was invalid because it contravened the rules of procedure.
